Our approach

We call it the Thompson Way. It could just as easily be called the Thompson 'Why'

At our core we are builders – passionate about what we do. One of our clients summed it up for us by saying that “Thompson just get the job done’.

We like to think we have no airs and graces… that at the end of the day it is about working, enabling our talented teams to use their creativity and on-the-tools experience to design and construct practical, robust building solutions for our clients.

We know we have the skills and in-house talent to take an idea or a concept and shape steel and concrete into a practical or commercially relevant solution for our clients - that is built to last.

When Thompson takes on a project, it’s a Thompson project from concept to completion. We invest a lot in the future; into our people, plant and machinery to ensure we are able to support our expanding client base and diverse project base - from large warehouses, bulk stores and factories to agricultural buildings, showrooms and precast supply for residential homes.

Equally we understand that health and safety is an integral part of our business.

We engage and work closely with our clients, consultants and contractors to develop a health and safety plan specific for each Project that is underpinned by the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015).

We work hard to keep health and safety implemented. As part of our commitment to monitor workplace conditions and lift performance, we have a full time Health and Safety Coordinator.

Our commitment looks like:

• A robust Health and Safety Policy
• Annual objectives established by employees to achieve our Health and Safety Policy
• Consultation and development of Telehandler Good Practice Guide for New Zealand
