Project
This storage building and adjoined office project was another repeat customer, having previously designed and constructed a separate bulk storage building on this site. Pure Oil NZ required a facility to provide a permanent base for staff, with onsite packing and under cover dispatch.
The warehouse provides 1000 square meters of floor space, with a sloped floor area to internal drainage as requested by the client for future options. The roof clear spans the twenty-five-meter width with a seven-meter-high eave, while a canopy runs along the length of the rear to cover the concrete apron. The canopy has been bird proofed as far as practical with minimal ledges in the structural elements while utilising Dridex roof cladding to eliminate the need for building paper and netting; removing the places where birds love to nest most. The warehouse has internal access to the adjoined office, which provides 250 square meters of floor space, with a suspended floor meeting room above the reception area and second level above the rest.
Thompson designed and constructed precast panels were used around the base of the warehouse and full height around the office area, with the office panels external sides painted to match the colorsteel walls used around the warehouse. The reception area has polished concrete flooring with vinyl throughout the rest of the lower level and carpet the upper level.
