Project
The Hilton Haulage Duke Street warehouse was designed and constructed to provide a high-quality import and export logistics facility to service the food sector and meets high international standards. With its post tensioned floor providing 7,440 square meters of floor space, including an enclosed loading area, and a nearly 2,100 square meter external combi grade pad, Hilton Haulage have the capacity to service multiple large-scale customers.
The facility was built using Thompson constructed precast tilt panels, with the rear wall also acting as a retaining wall, while future additions were considered with some removable panels being incorporated into the build. The rear wall uses full length panels measuring over 10 meters high while other walls have Colorsteel cladding along the top, which is also used on the roof. The main warehouse space is 83 meters long with the roof spanning the 68 meter width using an internal middle leg to support the trusses, with a 1.2 meter high precast panel separating wall running most of the way through the middle of the warehouse.
Another precast panel wall provides protection for a walkway along an external wall with multiple access points, including the attached precast tilt panel office which provides around 90 square meters of space to manage operations. The enclosed loading area utilises the 68m span roof to provide sufficient room for truck movements while loading and unloading activities are sheltered from the elements.
