Project
From July to October 2019, six pump station buildings were built for Monadelphous on the Kurow Duntroon Irrigation Scheme. The buildings include sloped internal floors, ventilators and one has specific acoustic features to meet resource consent conditions. The buildings house the pumping and associated electrical equipment for the new piped irrigation scheme.
What made this construction process a success was while working alongside the client, Thompson were able to sequence the project, leapfrogging down the valley with each of the individual phases – practically constructing all six buildings as one.
Thompson ensured the project was as seamless and stress free for the client as possible by rolling with the punches and handling changes to the program with ease. The buildings are constructed completely of precast walls which allowed them to be installed swiftly, along with ensuring robustness and longevity.
Thompson landed this job after the client’s project engineer had inspected our precast panels at our plant plus the ability to reduce the build cost sealed the deal.
