West Street Properties Ltd
BP 2go

The Ashburton BP 2Go outlet was Thompson’s first fuel shop and was completed in just three months. The building was constructed directly behind the existing BP shop, this meant business could continue as normal while the construction of the new building was completed. The service station was only closed for 4 days while the old building was demolished and the asphalt was laid, which left the new building standing and ready for its first customers.

The building consists of precast concrete tilt panels which were all made by Thompson Precast in Washdyke and transported to Ashburton ready for installation on site. The panels have an architectural negative detail feature which gives them a sharp decorative finish to tie into the fresh look of the BP branding.

While there, Thompson, also reduced the size of the existing canopy over the fuel pumps allowing for carparks to be installed in front of the new shop and giving more space for customers to park without disturbing those at the pumps. The BP 2Go retail store now matches the modern look of the other BP franchises around NZ.
