Project
Arlington Experience
Retail Precinct
This 2530m² shopping centre is based in Rangiora and houses a number of retail outlets, cafes and a restaurant in the northern corner. A particular feature within the restaurant space is a section of floor in coloured concrete called “Cloudburst” adding style to the space and complementing the rustic theme.
To build a shopping centre was an exciting opportunity for our Precast team here in Washdyke, where they had the opportunity to utilise some of their talents with the inclusion of negative details and a timber look insitu architectural pattern on the 115 precast panels wrapping around the exterior. The timber feature was finished utilising a concrete stain that is so realistic it is difficult to tell whether or not weatherboards are actually installed without touching them. A real benefit is, this feature will stand the test of time without deterioration from exposure to the elements. The team manufactured the panels in 33 days, and then each one was transported from Washdyke to Rangiora by our logistics team.
Part of the scope of this shopping centre was to allow for the variation of shop floor areas when tenants come and go overtime. This is achieved through the use of relocatable internal walls between the areas allowing easy expansion and contraction of shop floor space to meet any demand at the time.
Our construction team was on site throughout the duration of the build, giving continuity and maintaining quality and timeliness altogether providing surety to our client.
