Completed in April 2017, this 4,434m² Bulkstore for Mt Hutt incorporated a full height 175mm thick internal precast wall for fire separation and the ability to store bulk product. An eave height of 9m provides a clearance height to allow for trucks to tip and machinery to manoeuvre below the roof structure to reduce the risk of collisions. With efficient storage in mind, a flush surface on the inside of the shed was achieved by the web truss connecting into a structural precast column, forming part of the tilt slab panel wall along the rear of the building. The lean-to canopy has 16 metres between steel legs to enable more room for trucks to manoeuvre in and out of the canopy. Two strips of clearlight in every bay allowed plenty of daylight inside this building. In addition to the building, the client required a large 3,000m2 concrete area to create a durable yard.
