Project
Another project for a repeat customer; having previously completed many projects for Pye Group Ltd, Thompson have built a trusting relationship by providing professional service which matches the quality of our work. A purpose-built workshop with more space was required for Central Feeds, to allow their mechanics to maintain their large agricultural fleet.
The workshop measures 64 meters long by 26 meters wide with the roof clear spanning the space to provide 1664 square meters of uninterrupted floor space. Access for the agricultural equipment is provided with a total of eleven roller doors, each measuring 7.2 meters wide by 5.5 meters high. Overhead corbels were included in the build to allow for the future addition of an overhead crane while a 150UB frame was cast into the concrete floor to allow grounding of welding equipment.
The workshop was clad using Colorsteel, on both the walls and roof, while a small office with internal access is attached to the front of the workshop, constructed using Thompson designed and constructed precast panels then lined and insulated with aluminium joinery, providing a separate clean space for the administrative duties. A 4.2-meter-wide concrete apron runs along the front of the workshop, either side of the office, with a 4-meter-wide cantilevered canopy running the length above.
Future additions were considered by Pye Group with the workshop being designed and constructed in a way to allow these additions to be added in the future.
